Before Your PDO Thread Appointment

Follow these tips to prepare for your PDO Thread treatment.

GENERAL

You may book a consultation prior to your appointment to discuss your goals and come up with a treatment plan or we can do a consultation at your appointment!

It is not recommended to get PDO Threads right before an event. Please consult with your provider to plan out the best time to be treated!

You are not a candidate for MINT PDO Threads if you: 

  • are pregnant or breastfeeding

  • allergic to any of its ingredients

  • have acute illness or autoimmune deficiencies

  • have a bleeding disorder

  • have keloid or hypertrophic scarring

2 WEEKS

Do not schedule any dental work including cleanings, 2 week prior to treatment.

Protect your skin with SPF to prevent any burning prior to treatment.

1 WEEK

Avoid taking medications and supplements such as: Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Motrin, Aleve, St. John’s Wort, Gingko Biloba, Ginseng, Primrose Oil, Flax Oil, Cod Liver Oil, Vitamin A, Vitamin E, or any other essential fatty acids at least 3 days to 1 week before and after treatment to minimize bruising or bleeding. Please consult with your primary physician prior to discontinuing any medications.

Avoid alcohol for 7 days before your treatment.

2 DAYS

Discontinue use of topical retinoids or vitamin A derivative products (Retin A, etc.), chemical exfoliants (glycolic acid, etc.), mechanical exfoliants (scrubs, etc.) 7-10 days before and after treatment.

Avoid tweezing, bleaching, waxing, and hair removal cream to avoid any increased redness or irritation.

Avoid smoking for 2 days before your treatment.

DAY OF

Be sure to eat and hydrate before your appointment!
